Falcon Tor Chapter History and Milestones

What we've done, where we've been ... and who we've conquered!

October 24-26, 2008: ORCtoberfest campout at the Pine Ridge Campground. Darten won the Noble's Tourney, receiving a sleeping bag as his prize. Tiberius, a new player on his first day with us, took second place and won a camping chair. Gutherias earned third place and won an LED Lamp. A costumed Monster class battle was held on Sunday. Spirits were high, despite attendance being low.
October 18-19, 2008: Central Missouri Renfest Demo. CMR provided us two live-steel swords to offer as tournament prizes in exchange for attending and demonstrating both days. We met and played with and against the Kingdom of Talamh ni Chroix, a boffer group in Columbia.
September 06, 2008: Ashland Fall Fest Demo (Ashland, MO) This all-day demo saw lots of fighting and reeving by everyone who came out. Thanks go to Grey Oddson especially for bringing out his pavillion. Also thanks to (in no particular order) Baron Lorell, Cliffton, Ferron, Naezoc, Gutherias, Leeda, Trinity, Dorgan, Sir Rammork, Catherine, Madia, Thor, Andres and Luna. Tor also sold 24-inch boffers and raised over $100! The exposure was great for our group. We got one new waiver signed on the spot, and a half dozen more interested enough to take waivers home with them.
August 28-31, 2008: Camping Trip and Coronation (Ashland, MO). Sir Rammork set up tents and saved space at the Pine Ridge Campground starting Wednesday, and he and Dorgan, Leeda, Baron Lorell, Jurgen, Helena, Madia and Airia survived the storm Thursday night. On Friday another 15 players arrived for battles and classes. Saturday's Tavern battle provided many roleplaying stars the opportunity to shine, and everyone enjoyed the theme. The Moroccan Coronation feast provided by Sir Rammork received many compliments. Congratulations to our new Monarch, Baron Lorell; new Regent Dorgan; new Prime Minister Sir Rammork, new Treasurer Gutherias, and new Magistrate Echo. A new heraldry was chosen for Tor, the winning design was by Lady Catherine, with some input from Baron Lorell. Lord Shadus and his accomplice Shatten failed in their attempt to assassinate new Monarch Lorell. Lujako fell in defense of his grace, but Priestess Madia was on hand to resurrect him. The threat from Mor Uruk must be taken more seriously from this point forward.
July 13, 2008: Western Gate's Color Day (St. Louis, MO): Plenty of ditching and a roman-mythology themed quest kept several Tor members busy. Heartwynd was gracious, Tafkal was hilarious, and Black Heaven company were impressive as always. Lady Angiel of Cordis Medegar presented Catherine with a silver circlet and elevated her to Lady in front of the entire WG court!
July 12, 2008: MidReign: Congrats to new Weaponsmaster Gutherias. Catherine won the Duct-tape challenge with her rose, and then went on to win Dragonmaster with jewelry pieces. Lady Jessa and Baron Lorell put on a fantastic feast! Kelfynn made heavenly flan. Many awards were given, and the evening was topped off with Catherine's elevation to the position of Lady!
July 1, 2008: Andres resigned as Guildmaster of Reeves. Sheriff Sir Rammork appoints Baron Lorell as GMR Pro-Tem. An election by Reeve-Qualified members of Tor will be held at MidReign on July 12, 2008.
June 28, 2008: Trip to Cordis Medagar (St. Charles, MO): CM has made so many trips to visit Tor, including bringing Black Heaven company to play all our monsters at the Fallen Event, and we owed them a visit. They suspected a "surprise raid" and called some Western Gaters to come out and play as well. We brought eight people from Tor and played funny battlegames with Zombies and Jesters who made all the magic spells go wonky, and not do what they were supposed to. Cordis, you guys are great hosts!
June 15, 2008: Fathers vs. Kids battle. Father's Day was celebrated with a "Fathers vs. Kids" battle. Despite the Kids having the greater numbers, wisdom and skill won the day and the "Fathers" team took home the victory. Grey gave quite a performance demonstrating how to make a Modern Endless Loop Bowstring. It was fascinating and kept us out of the rain! Thanks, Grey!
June 08, 2008: Falcon Tor's First Birthday! Also, Garb a Newbie & Dollar Level Day. Sheriff Sir Rammork baked a three-tier cake and Trinity and Gutherias provided plates, flatware and drinks to celebrate the anniversary of the day Lord Shadus and Baron Lorell signed Falcon Tor's contract with the Burning Lands Board of Directors. Happy Birthday, Falcon Tor!! The Garb a Newbie contest had five entries, with Sheriff Sir Rammork taking first prize for a shapely blue tunic with gold trim, and Gutherias earned second prize for his brown tunic with a yellow falcon device and a snappy little burlap pouch attached to the belt. Both prizes were ca$h! Congratulations guys! (I guess garbing is definitely not 'women's work' in FT!) Dollar Level Day raised much-needed funds for the chapter.
May 30 - June 1, 2008: Rivermoor Spring Trials and Querna Tema Coronation (Neola, IA). We had beautiful weather for camping out in the Arrowhead National Forest. Lots of hiking, good company and conversation made up for the long drive. Tigger from CP and Dark Hart, Dryope, and Dakar from Gehenna Plains completed our ten-person team. We retrieved the egg and the necklace in the quest, but did not hold the four bridges or retrieve the stolen money. Oh well. Dorgan rented a paddleboat! Kakeda of QT played some great monsters! Kyrill put on a successful feast, and Tsani was elected the new Duke. Savaen, Balinor, Kyrill, Jolly, and Graegos joined us at the campfire for chat and beverages, and Khanar sang a hauntingly beautiful song for us. Our thanks go to QT for hosting a memorable event!
May 11, 2008: Centerpoint Coronation (Kansas City, KS). Much fun was had at Tenebrus' pink and sparkly Coronation event. All visitors from Tor recieved their "Tor Scum" favor, a blue badge with yellow TS that attaches with magnets. We presented Centerpoint with a flag of their Heraldry, and a pink and sparkly tiara and scepter for the new-crowned monarch. We met players from Heartland and Knoblands, had lunch and cookies, and played in a battlegame against demons to exorcise Auz Antaracles. Thanks CP for hosting such an enjoyable day!
May 2-4, 2008: "The Fallen" Quest Event (Millersburg/Fulton, MO). Knoblands, Cordis Medagar and Western Gate all converged on Andres and Leeda's Farm, for this event. Madia roleplayed a Messenger Angel wounded and in need of three crystals to restore her to health. The players faced a Demon Prince and many minions including hellhounds, dreamstalkers, black dogs, succubi, even a putrescence demon. They were aided by holy warriors, and angels on their side. After three days' battle, the angel was restored and returned to the eternal battle between Good and Evil. New friendships began, lessons were learned, and cows arrived to take over the farm. Future meetings of Falcon Tor will take place at the Ashland Community Park in Ashland, Missouri. Many thanks to everyone who helped with this event, as well as everyone who came to play.
Apr 06, 2008: Raid on Falcon Tor (Millersburg/Fulton, MO). Centerpoint arrived to Raid Andres and Leeda's Farm, but Tor was prepared with reinforcements from Western Gate and Cordis Medagar. Weaponmaster Page Venificus Biggs fought on the side of Falcon Tor, as a result of his being purchased as a slave by Catherine at Centerpoint's Mid-Reign. WG's Tempest defected to the Centerpoint team to help in his place. After the initial stomping, which the Centerpointians accepted graciously with smiles on their faces, equitable teams were chosen and Capture the Flag battles were held. Much ditching, some archery practice and lots of fun followed. Biggs was kidnapped by the Falcon Guard after acquitting himself heroically and honorably in battle against his own park, proving himself to be truly Tor at heart; and now he wears a blue and gold tabard. Stay tuned for developments.
Apr 05, 2008: Falcon Tor Coronation III and Feast. Guests from Centerpoint, Cordis Medagar, Western Gate, and the band Pirates Inc. made this a memorable occassion. The Falcon Guard was formed, with Baron Lorell, Dorgan Blackfist and Derk Child the Tiny (aka Chewie) as the first members. New Monarch Sir Rammork Blackfalcon was crowned. Many awards were bestowed upon many hardworking deserving members.
Mar 30, 2008: Falcon Tor Crown Qualifications: Warskills Events and A&S Judging. Falcon Tor Officer/Board of Directors Elections. Congratulations incoming Sherrif Sir Rammork, incoming Regent Leeda, and BoD members Baron Lorell and Echo.
Mar 29, 2008: Tent Setup Party at Grey's (Boonville, MO). The tent went up, the tent came down; the grill was fired up, the food was gobbled down; the music was started up, and Tor got down! (Well, okay, not really, but we did learn some Medieval dances, like Hole in the Wall.) And we dressed Sir Rammork in a kilt. He was a very good sport. Echo got photos.
Mar 23, 2008: Easter. The goblins stole the eggs, but Tor rallied around the Bunny and retrieved all but two, (in the snow, no less). Everyone got rewarded for their effort - although some rewards will be more fun than others. Thanks Madia-Bunny for hosting this shindig, and thanks to Grey for bringing candy-filled camouflage eggs for everyone!
Mar 22, 2008: New IM Principality of Rivermoor Coronation I (Neola, IA). Baron Lorell, Sir Rammork, Catherine and Madia joined the Centerpointians, Ivory Tower, Gehenna Plains and Querna Tema for the maiden voyage of a new Principality base out of Omaha, NE. The Pirates kidnapped Princess Savaen and the brave warriors of the combined force were hard-pressed to rescue her. What a glorious time we had, welcomed by all, well fed, hosted by Duke Oderic of QT and Rivermoor Regent Teleri (who are amazing people). Hope to see lots more of them, really soon.
Feb 23, 2008: A&S Day (FT Tabard-making) At Baron Lorell's home. Now we're "too pretty to die!"
Feb 03, 2008: Raided Centerpoint (Kansas City, MO). They called in reinforcements from Heartland (Cameron, MO) and after heavy losses on both sides, we were forced to concede the field. Lord Shadus alone remained, to guard our retreat. The last we saw, he was on his knees, surrounded. There will be weeping and rending of garments.
